Military Relocation to Pensacola

Your PCS planning hub for the Florida Gulf Coast.

Start here if you have orders to the Gulf Coast

This page is the starting point for a PCS move to the Pensacola area. It gathers the pieces of a relocation in one place: which installation you are reporting to, which housing areas make sense around it, how a VA loan fits your purchase, and who to talk to when the timeline gets short.

Pensacola sits on the western edge of the Florida panhandle in Escambia County, next to Santa Rosa County. Three installations shape the housing market here, and the one you report to is usually the first filter on where to look.

If you are researching Pensacola for a civilian move instead, the Pensacola relocation guide covers the area more generally.

    A veteran-led perspective

The Peacock Group is led by Wayne Peacock, a United States Air Force veteran and the team's Team Leader. Having moved under orders himself, he built the team's relocation process around the parts of a PCS that are genuinely hard: making decisions from another time zone, compressing a search into a short window, and closing while the rest of the move is still in motion.

Wayne is licensed in Florida and Alabama, so a search that crosses the state line toward Orange Beach or Foley does not require a second agent.

Full background, qualifications and services for veterans are on the veteran real estate services page.

    The three Pensacola-area installations

Drive times vary by traffic, bridge conditions and gate routing, so treat these as starting points and confirm your own route before committing.

    NAS Pensacola

The region's largest naval installation and home of the National Naval Aviation Museum. Families reporting here most often look at Perdido Key, Warrington, Gulf Breeze and Pensacola Beach.

    NAS Whiting Field

Located in Milton, north-east of Pensacola. Pace and Milton keep the drive short, while north Pensacola gives access to more inventory at a slightly longer drive.

    Corry Station

A training command inside the city itself. East Hill, downtown Pensacola and Warrington are common choices for members who want to live close in.

A note on schools and attendance zones

Escambia County and Santa Rosa County each operate their own public school districts, and both include schools with large military enrollments. We do not rate or rank schools. Attendance zones can change between school years and are not always what a listing states, so verify the zone for any specific address directly with the county school district before you make a decision based on it.
